Privacy Policy
ExamMate (“we”, “us”) runs the ExamMate mobile app and website (exammate.app). This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be read, not skimmed past.
Information we collect
- Account details — your email address (used to sign in with a one-time code), your name, your mobile number, and your class and stream.
- Orders and delivery — items you order from the Store, and the delivery address and phone number you enter at checkout.
- Learning activity — the courses you enrol in and the days you open the app (for your daily streak).
- Sign-in and device information — a random identifier the app creates for your device, the device type, and when you signed in. We use this to keep your account secure and to enforce the one-phone-and-one-web sign-in limit.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or payment card details, and we do not use advertising or third-party tracking tools in the app.
How we use it
- To sign you in and keep your account secure
- To show courses and books for your class
- To process, deliver and support your orders
- To send you sign-in codes and important service messages by email
- To answer your support requests
We never sell your personal information.
Who we share it with
We share information only with services that help us run ExamMate, and only what they need:
- Amazon Web Services (servers in Mumbai, India, and email delivery)
- MongoDB Atlas (our database, hosted in Mumbai, India)
- Cloudflare (secure connections and image delivery)
- Delivery partners — your name, phone number and address, for orders you place
- YouTube and Google Meet — lectures and live classes open on these services, which have their own privacy policies
We may also share information if the law of Nepal requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your profile and sign you out of every device. We keep order records for as long as we are required to for accounting and tax purposes.
Your choices
- See or correct your information — your profile is shown in the app’s Account tab. Email us to correct anything.
- Delete your account — in the app, go to Account → Delete account, or see how to delete your account.
Security
All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted (HTTPS). Sign-in codes expire quickly and are stored only in hashed form.
Students under 18
ExamMate is made for secondary-school students, many of whom are under 18. We collect only what is needed to provide the service, and we encourage parents and guardians to help younger students use the app. ExamMate is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
